Waterville Central School District Foundation

Mission statement : To provide financial resources for
enhancement of present or future educational programs in the district.

The Waterville Central School District Foundation is the creative end product of several difficult budget years in the Waterville district. The frustration over rising costs and shrinking state aid to public education was the motivation behind this new approach to fund-raising. Tracing its roots back to 1997, a committed group of community members and district officials have been fine-tuning the Waterville Central School District Foundation to fulfill this purpose:

The WCS District is committed to providing an excellent education for its students. The cost of providing such an education may exceed the funding that is available from the public sector. Therefore, it is necessary to look to the private sector to enable the district to provide an educational program which is superior to that which could be provided in the District were solely dependent upon public financing. In so doing, the District can provide an unusually superior education program. At the same time, those who share the commitment to quality education will be given an opportunity to demonstrate their commitment in a meaningful way.
