Peer Mentoring

The Student Mentoring Program, now in its fifth year, held its first meeting of the year. High School students act as academic and social mentors to Middle School students. The mentoring partners meet every week either during the day or after school. The students meet with Advisor Mrs. Bogan monthly for a luncheon to exchange ideas, suggestions and helpful hints to help students achieve academic success. Excerpts from Sean Covey's book, Seven Habits of Highly Effective Teens, have been included in the students' planners. Each month one of the habits will be addressed. Many students developed a great rapport last year that was a boost to their self-esteem.
